How to make sure you complete your business investments
We’ve had some great blog posts about investing in your business. Including questions to ask yourself when considering investing and what some of my favorite business investments have been.
But today I wanted to chat about a real issue that probably 90% of us face when it comes to investments (those other 10% are just overachievers! ha!). And that being held accountable for the items we invest in. Buy a course, set it to the side, and never log in. Invest in a business coach and don’t take their advice. Go to a conference and get tons of ideas, and never implement them. See a pattern here?
Well, the truth is we are all busy. And I totally get that. I’m 100% guilty as well. We’re so excited while we are in the heat of the moment, but when we’re back to reality and in front of our computer, we put our businesses to the side and are straight client-focused again.
So what are a few ways you can make sure that you keep yourself accountable and make the most of your investment instead of throwing money out the window?
Make your business a priority.
You will just keep treading water in your business and never elevate if you don’t take time for your business. Depending on your schedule, choose 1 day a week or even just 1 day a month to dedicate 100% to your business. This is non-negotiable.
Keep a list
A running list of business tasks that you need to do so you can easily reference your “business workdays”. (complete 2 modules in a course, set up your CRM, refresh your website, work on your newsletter, etc). You are 99% more likely to complete a task that you have written down or on your calendar.
Set goals
Set quarterly business goals on what you want to accomplish in your business each quarter. I’m not talking about income or booking so many clients. Out of that long-running list you’ve created, what do you want to knock off that list each quarter. Hold yourself accountable or have an accountability partner.
If you just shift your business mind-set and make self-care for your business a priority using these simple tips above, I guarantee you will accomplish so much in your business and will harness the full potential of those investments.
